His research interests include vibration measurement, analysis and control engineering, condition monitoring of rotating machines; and has supervised many Ph.D. students in this area. He has more than 80 international journals and conference publications to his credit and has authored 3 textbooks in the areas of Mechatronics and Control Engineering. He has been conferred Sir C.V. Raman award for the best technical paper published in the Journal of Vibration & Acoustics (1997). He is associated with professional bodies such as ASME, Asset Management Council (Australia), Indian Society of Technical Education and Institution of Plant Engineers.
