Ansto13 zu wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen scheint es wesentlich seltener ge- geben zu haben. Wenn aber die osterreichische Koalition zum Objekt der Wissenschaft wurde, dann meist als ein Kuriosum, das wegen seiner spe- zifisch osterreichischen Gestaltung eine Untersuchung lohnend erscheinen lief3. Demgegenuber geht die vorliegende Arbeit von einem entgegengesetz- ten Ansatz aus. Sie will versuchen, die Zusammenhange zwischen dem allgemeinen Typus parlamentarischer Regierungsweise und dem oster- reichischen Regierungssystem herauszuarbeiten, urn daran anknupfend die Frage nach den verfassungspolitischen Gestaltungsmoglichkeiten in diesem Lande zu diskutieren. Wenn eine solche Arbeit sich nicht nur auf die Auswertung des veroffent- lichten Materials beschranken will, so ist der Verfasser auf die Hilf'e vieler Personen angewiesen, die ihm zusatzliche Informationen verschaf- fen. Damit verbindet sich dann fUr ihn eine Aufgabe, der ich bei dieser Gelegenheit gerne nachkomme, namlich allen zu danken, die durch ihre freundliche Mithilfe wesentlich zur Entstehung dieser Arbeit beigetragen haben.
