Dieses Buch berichtet über Unterrichtserfahrungen und didaktische Re- flexionen. Die konkreten Erfahrungen im Unterricht habe ich am Gym- nasium Wuppertal-Vohwinkel in den Jahren 1970 bis 1994 und als Fachleiterin in der Referendarausbildung am Studienseminar I in Wup- pertal gemacht. Die didaktischen Reflexionen sind in zahlreichen Ar- beitszusammenhängen entstanden: - Fachkonferenz Sozialwissenschaften am Gymnasium Vohwinkel, - Fachgruppe Sozialwissenschaften im Lande Nordrhein-Westfalen, Richtlinienkommission für den Politik-Unterricht in NRW, Rahmenplangruppe für Politische Bildung in Brandenburg, - Moderatorengruppe für Lehrerweiterbildung in Brandenburg. Die Möglichkeit, die Gedanken aufzuschreiben, verdanke ich der Martin- Luther-Universität in Halle an der Saale. Die Mitglieder der gen. Arbeitsgruppen wird u.U. wenig von dem hier Gesagten überraschen, denn sie waren an der Entstehung der Gedan- ken bzw. Erfahrungen beteiligt. Auch gibt es eine Reihe von Veröffentli- chungen, die Teile der Überlegungen enthalten. Allerdings handelt es sich dabei z.T. um Textsorten, die i.d.R. kein Bestandteil der universitä- ren didaktischen Auseinandersetzung sind: Richtlinien, behördliche Ver- fügungen, Papiere für die Lehrerfortbildung, kommissionsinterne Ar- beitspapiere. Manches aus diesen Texten möchte ich der allgemeineren didaktischen Diskussion zugänglich machen. Im Lande Nordrhein-Westfalen hat sich in den vergangenen Jahrzehn- ten (spätestens seit den 70er Jahren) eine Entwicklung im Fach "Sozialwis- senschaften" in der gymnasialen Oberstufe abgespielt, der man vielleicht die Qualität der Traditionsbildung für ein Fach zusprechen kann. 7 Dieses Fach ist zu verstehen als Fortsetzung des Faches "Politik" in der Sekundarstufe I (in anderen Bundesländern hei t das entsprechende Fach am häufigsten "Sozialkunde"). Zentrales Unterscheidungsmerkmal ist die Akzentuierung von wissenschaftspropädeutischem Arbeiten.
