Vor diesem Hintergrund schl�gt Anton Sterbling in seinem vorliegenden Buch einen neuen Ideologiebegriff vor - unter ma geblicher Ber�cksichtigung grundlegender Zusammenh�nge zwischen Werten und Wertordnungen, Interessen und Wissens- und Deutungssystemen. Sein Anliegen zielt darauf, das Ideologiekonzept so zu justieren, dass es auch in konsolidierten demokratischen Gesellschaften bestimmte Prozesse der Ideologisierung wie auch bestimmte Anzeichen und Schwellenwerte ideologischer Gef�hrdungen signalisiert und erkennbar macht. Dabei geht es um Ideologie und Herrschaft, namentlich um Macht, Autorit�t, Herrschaftstypen und die polarisierende Rolle von Ideologien im politischen Handeln wie auch um ideologisch, religi�s, demokratisch und utopisch begr�ndete und legitimierte Formen der politischen Herrschaft. Ebenso um Ideologie im Kontext von Staaten- und Nationenbildung und Nationalismus. Desgleichen werden Ideologie und Sprache und insbesondere fragw�rdige ideologiegeleitete Regulations- und Manipulationsversuche der Sprachverwendung thematisiert und das Verh�ltnis von Ideologie und Kunst im Horizont der Moderne und die Widerstandspotenziale k�nstlerischer T�tigkeit in ideologisch-totalit�ren Herrschaftssystemen behandelt. Schlie lich werden aktuelle Herrschaftsauseinandersetzungen, Sinnkrisen, apokalyptische Untergangsstimmungen und neue ideologische Denkfiguren und Heilsangebote wie auch die Rolle gesinnungsethischen Handelns im Gravitationsfeld neuer Ideologien diskutiert. Eine kurze Betrachtung �ber Gefahren und m�gliche Verh�ngnisse der Dominanz ideologischen Denkens und der Wirkung geschichtsm�chtiger Ideologien runden die �berlegungen ab.

Anton Sterbling, geboren 1953 in Groß-Sankt-Nikolaus/Banat in Rumänien. Mitbegründer der regimekritischen Autorengruppe "Aktionsgruppe Banat". Studium der Sozialwissenschaften an der Universität Mannheim, Promotion (1987) und Habilitation (1993) an der Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg. Bis Ende März 2019 Professor für Soziologie an der Hochschule der Sächsischen Polizei (FH) in Rothenburg/OL. Mitglied des Präsidiums des "Balkanologenverbandes e.V.", Stellvertretender Vorsitzender des "Kulturwerks Banater Schwaben e.V.", Mitherausgeber der Zeitschrift "Land-Berichte. Beiträge zu ländlichen und regionalen Lebenswelten".
