Aber gerade in der heutigen Zeit, die f�r Toleranz, Gleichberechtigung und Aufgeschlossenheit steht, sollte es m�glich sein, diese Menschen in die verschiedenen Bereiche des Lebens zu integrieren, wie z. B. in der Familie, in der Nachbarschaft, am Arbeitsplatz, in Erziehungseinrichtungen. Wichtig ist dabei, die Behinderten nicht nur am gesellschaftlichen Leben teilhaben zu lassen, sondern ihnen das subjektive Gef�hl des Integriertseins, des Geachtetseins, zu vermitteln. Unter Integration ist kein Prozess zu verstehen, der einseitig die Anpassung der gehandicapten Menschen an die Normen der "normalen" Bev�lkerung fordert, stattdessen ist eine aktive Beteilung, keine passive Eingliederung, der Behinderten gew�nscht. Ein gutes Beispiel f�r die Zusammenarbeit mit behinderten Menschen sind die Integrationsans�tze in Regelschulen. Sicherlich werden auch in Zukunft die Sonderschulen mit ihren spezifischen F�rderprogrammen an Bedeutung nicht verlieren, dennoch gibt es seit einigen Jahren den Anspruch, behinderte Sch�ler in einer Regelschule zu unterrichten. Um einen Einstieg in das Thema der gemeinsamen Erziehung zu geben, wird zun�chst auf die Gr�nde f�r eine Integration eingegangen, um dann zwei Schulmodelle vorzustellen, die den Integrationsansatz verk�rpern, die integrativen Schulen und das additiv-kooperative Modell. Dabei werden nicht nur die Schulen charakterisiert, sondern anhand von Erfahrungsberichten, die vom Leben behinderter Sch�ler in den jeweiligen Regelschulen erz�hlen, versucht, ein genaueres Bild zu vermitteln.
