Gabriele Geiger nimmt Materialisierun- gen von Raum, Reinhard Hörster Heterotopien zum Ausgangspunkt ihrer/ seiner Überlegungen. Der zweite Teil ist stärker empirisch aufgebaut und bezieht sich daher auf unterschiedliche Raum-"Ausschnitte" Mediale Räume im Vergleich zu realen Räumen, Stadt und Land. Während sich Birgit Richard/Heinz-Her- mann Krüger jugendspezifischen Räumen zuwenden, richtet Christine Ah- rend ihr Augenmerk auf kindliche Räume. Ingrid Breckner/Gabriele Sturm diskutieren die Bedeutung und Möglichkeiten räumlichen Verstehens fur Lernprozesse. Burkhard Fuhs stellt sich die Frage, wie die erziehungswissen- schaftliche Kindheitsforschung mit den Begriffen Stadt/Land arbeitet und inwieweit diese in die pädagogische Theoriebildung einflie en. Dieses Buch kann nur ein Anfang sein. Immer wieder sto en die Autor- Innen auf das Problem, da die theoretischen Überlegungen zu Raum unge- nügend sind, insbesondere dann, wenn Veränderungen erfa t werden sollen. Aber auch die Notwendigkeit empirischer Forschung wird deutiich. Wenn es mit diesem Buch gelingt, den Eindruck zu verunsichern, da die Zeit fort- schreitet, "während Raum nur herumlungert" (Massey 1993, 118) und damit Neugierde auf Raum als Proze zu wecken, dann sind wir zufrieden.
