Es kursieren derzeit zahlreiche gesellschaftliche Fragestellungen zu Proble- men, bei denen in der öffentlichen Debatte davon ausgegangen wird, da sie bereits in der Schule bearbeitet werden mü ten. Zwei solchen Problemstel- lungen möchte ich mit dieser Studie in der Praxis nachspüren. Erstens dem Phänomen, auf das unter anderem mit der Debatte um den Kommunitarismus Bezug genommen wird: Die demokratische Gesellschaft drohe durch ein Zu- wenig an Bindung und an Gemeinschaft zu zerfallen. Zugeschrieben wird die- ser Zerfallsproze dem Zustand, da die Menschen nur noch unzureichend in gesellschaftliche Entscheidungsprozesse eingebunden sind und Entscheidun- gen im allgemeinen von übergeordneten Institutionen und Bürokratien gefällt werden. Man meint, dieses Muster auch in der Regelschule auffinden zu kön- nen. Zwar gibt es institutionelle Rahmen der Schuldemokratie, wie die Schü- lermitverwaltung oder Schulkonferenzen, in denen Lehrer, Schüler und auch Eltern über die Belange der Schule mitentscheiden können, doch unterliegt die Mitsprache einer kleinen, wenn auch durch Wahlen legitimierten Schicht. Der gro e "Rest" der Schüler hat hingegen wenig Möglichkeiten, sein Schulumfeld mitzugestalten oder eine "echte Teilhabe" am eigenen Lernen umzusetzen (vgl. z. B. FLITNER 1995). Die geringen Mitgestaltungsmöglichkeiten von Schülern werden dabei als eine Ursache tUr die in der Schule und in der Gesellschaft beobachtete zunehmende Gewaltbereitschaft bei gleichzeitiger Abnahme von direkter Hilfsbereitschaft und Teilnahme an gesellschaftlichen Prozessen an- gesehen.
