The author's hope is for people to acknowledge their racism, become free of it, and decide to contribute positively to building people and improving the communities where they serve, which just happen to be servant-leadership characteristics.

This is a substantial goal. However, servant-leadership and racism reside at opposite ends of the spectrum of humanity. To close the gap it takes trust, courage, transparency, patience, love, perseverance, joy, and kindness. It requires that we not keep an account of wrongdoing, and to forgive our brother or sister as many times as necessary for peace and love to prevail, rule, and reign in our hearts and lives. We can, and we must work together to make this reality.

About The Author

Cruz, Robert J.: - DR. ROBERT J. CRUZ is an executive assistant for the chief operations officer and chief financial officer of the Central Florida Family Health Center, Inc., dba True Health, in Sanford, Florida. He is also the founder of BEC Global Consulting Group, a strategic and servant-leadership consulting firm based in Central Florida. He completed his Doctor of Strategic Leadership Degree, with a servant-leadership concentration, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership, with concentration in organizational development consulting, at Regent University. Robert is a retired United States Air Force senior noncommissioned officer. He served in the United States, Europe, and the Pacific theaters while following and leading under the leadership of Air Force generals, field, company officers, and senior noncommissioned officers. Dr. Cruz, and his wife, Eleanor, currently reside in Deland, Florida.
