About The Author

Hanson, Robin: - Robin A. Hanson, PhD is a scholar and writer whose work examines memory, material culture, and visual interpretation, with particular attention to cemeteries, photography, ritual space, and the politics of historical visibility. She is the author of What We Choose to Remember-and What We Are Allowed to Forget, Eternal Echoes: Death and Remembrance in America, Sacred Women of the Andes: Keepers of Balance, Water, and Cosmic Memory, and Echoes from Other Lives. Hanson has presented her research internationally and at national conferences, including scholarly work on American cemeteries, death practices, and cultural memory. Her work bridges cultural history, visual studies, archaeomythology, and interpretive scholarship, focusing on how remembrance is shaped through space, symbolism, and institutional practice. She holds a PhD in American Studies and is the founder of the Galiah Institute, an educational initiative dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of memory, spirituality, and wellness across cultural contexts.
