Rezension / Literaturbericht aus dem Jahr 2020 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Kultur, Technik und V lker, Note: 1,0, Friedrich-Alexander-Universit t Erlangen-N rnberg (Institut f r Soziologie), Veranstaltung: Masterkurs "Soziologische Theorie", Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Retrotopia" ist in neben Einleitung und Epilog in vier Kapitel aufgeteilt, die jeweils eine Dimension des vom Autor diagnostizierten Paradigmenwechsels aufzeigen. Inhaltlich folgt der Aufbau einer Bewegung von den Grundlagen des gesellschaftlichen Miteinanders ber die globalisierte Ordnung der National- und der kapitalistischen Wohlfahrtsstaaten bis hin zum sp tmodernen Subjekt, das sich in dieser Ordnung zunehmend verliert. Ein Epilog stellt die Frage, unter welchen Umst nden echter zivilisatorischer Fortschritt noch m glich w re. "Retrotopia" war das letzte Werk von Zygmunt Bauman vor seinem Tod 2018. Es hat 220 Seiten und ist im Suhrkamp Verlag erschienen. Als "Retrotopie" bezeichnet Zygmunt Bauman die Vorstellung von einer idealen Gesellschaft, die sich nicht mehr aus dem Glauben an wirtschaftlichen, politischen oder technischen Fortschritt in der Zukunft speist, sondern ihre Strahlkraft aus der Sehnsucht nach einer umgedeuteten und neubewerteten Vergangenheit bezieht. Im Gegensatz zur Utopie h ngt die "Retrot-opie" an keinem Fixpunkt soziokultureller Entwicklung, an dem die gesellschaftlichen Verh ltnisse in Ordnung gewesen w ren beziehungsweise erst noch sein werden, fest, sondern aktualisiert und moduliert ihre Bez ge st ndig. So rufen sich derzeit etwa einige Mitgliedsstaaten der Europ ischen Union ausgew hlte Ereignisse und Verh ltnisse der Vergangenheit ins Ged chtnis, um ihre Anspr che als Nation geltend zu machen und die internationale Kooperation zu verweigern. Dadurch entwickelt die Retrotopie eine ungeheure Attraktivit t bei der Behandlung von Gerechtigkeits- und Verteilungsfragen. Retrotopien seien jedoch laut Bauman nicht nur auf der Ebene politischer Organisation zu finden.
