Pandit, Shilpa: - Shilpa Pandit is currently serving as an Associate Professor, School of Arts and Sciences, Ahmedabad University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, and earlier taught at Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth, Kochi. She has rich work experience in diverse interdisciplinary contexts with several organizations, which have given her a unique perspective on psychology teaching and research. Over the last two decades, Dr Pandit has worked on issues such as work and careers for youth, gender, women, entrepreneurship and livelihood, rural development and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, life skills and adolescent development and malnutrition. Particular to psychology, she has researched on self, self-awareness, creativity, emotions, employability, yoga and advanced meditation states. She teaches introduction to psychology, social psychology, research methods and Indian concepts and theories in psychology. She has founded a non-governmental organization, DreamPath Foundation, based in Bengaluru, which works with adolescents and young people towards career, work and livelihood. Not believing in the forced dichotomy of 'work' and leisure' that breaks the full integrated experience of living, she loves working on multiple ideas, cooking and cleaning the house, reading at least three books, simultaneously, at any given point of time and listening to music 24 × 7, especially North Indian, Carnatic and Western classical music. She is always trying to find the core in the apparently diverse forms of knowing and being.
