The Volume contains full text of the results of the Uruguay Round of Multilateral Tariff Negotiations concluded on the 15th December. 1993 and signed by 117 countries at the Ministerial Meeting held at Marrakesh (Marocco) during 12-15 April, 1994. Non-availability of the complete text has led to a lot of confusion and misunderstanding among the public and the political leaders of the country. The publication of this Volume would provide a true picture of the provisions contained in the new GATT Accord.
The accompanying Volume contains ten papers written by leading experts in the field of international trade. It examines in detail the various provisions of the new GATT Accord and their implications for India. The paper by Dr. T.P. Bhat briefly examines the impact of the Accord on Asia-Pacific economies.

The Editor. Dr. K.R. Gupta, is a well known authority in the field of international trade. He taught International Economics at the postgraduate level and guided research for more than two decades. He is author of a dozen books and has published more than hundred papers in leading journals in India and abroad. His books include GATT and Underdeveloped Countries (1973). A study of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (1967) and International Economics (4th ed. 1975).
