On The Gait Of Animals is a book written by Aristotle, a famous Greek philosopher and scientist, in which he examines the different ways in which animals move. Aristotle observes and describes the movements of various animals, such as horses, dogs, and birds, and analyzes their gait in detail. He also discusses the anatomy and physiology of animals, and how their physical structures affect their movements. The book is divided into eight chapters, each focusing on a different aspect of animal gait, such as the differences between quadrupeds and bipeds, the gaits of different types of horses, and the movements of birds in flight. Aristotle's observations and theories on animal movement were groundbreaking at the time, and his work has had a lasting impact on the fields of biology and zoology.Now of animals which change their position some move with the whole body at once, for example jumping animals, others move one part first and then the other, for example walking (and running) animals.
