Her works have been translated into Italian, French and Russian and have been awarded numerous prizes, including the Nabokov Prize (2015) for India's Untouchables, the Prize for Peace (2019) for India's and China's Missing Girls and the International Prize ASAS in Italy (2022) for Adoption and Surrogacy: A Child at Any Cost.
