Injustice is in fact the denial of the “due” to the deserving. It is the justice that only negates injustice and the endorsement of this negation by the society as a whole, is social justice. In Durkheim’s terms, it is the collective consciousness that translates this endorsement into practice, through collective representation.
Consciousness is never pre-determined by the Absolute. It is the social ecology, the objective conditions of life which determine social consciousness. Thus the justice or rather social justice is the issue of ‘just’ objective conditions of life. And the equality is the essentiality of the said conditions, i.e. of the ‘just’. So inequality can never set forth social justice.
The book focuses on ‘New World Order’ which is incomplete without equality between the individual and of the nations, the need of which is being increasingly felt now. It also focuses on equity and social justice perspectives in India, and earnestly calls for a “Sense of Service.”
The universal issues of women empowerment, gender equality and Twelfth Plan Document have also been dealt with in this book.
The book will be very useful to all who are concerned to see the era of real peace, progress and security of each individual.
