Paramjit S. Judge is Professor of Sociology at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He has worked and published in the areas of political sociology of social movements and development, diaspora studies and sociological theory. He is also an eminent Punjabi novelist. He has been Commonwealth Fellow, Royal Institute of Public Administration, London (1987), and Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute Fellow, Department of Sociology, Calgary University, Alberta  (1991), and  Toronto University, Ontario (1998). He has been Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Fellow (2013-2014) of the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi. Among his many responsibilities, he has been Dean, Academic Affairs/Pro Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University.
