Echidna lives life in the moment, struggling to think ahead and always being impulsive. He sees and does without thinking, being led by his feelings more than his thinking brain. He often feels bad after, but sometimes sitting with the shame of what he has done is too painful, so instead he switches it off by getting everyone's attention somewhere else. Echidna needs help from the adults to manage his shame, and to learn we all make mistakes sometimes. This is a humorous story about Echidna making a mistake and then trying to cover it up by blaming others, lying, distracting or then when this fails getting angry. Eventually he is able to tell the truth with support from mum and feels so much better after with restoration of their connection together.
