Sigmund Loland is Professor and Head of Section of Sport, Culture and Society at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, Oslo. Ivan Waddington is Visiting Professor at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, Oslo; the Centre for Research into Sport and Society, University College Chester, UK; and the Centre for Sports Studies, University College Dublin, Ireland.
