About The Author

GD Goenka School of Fashion & Design (SOFD) has been established in academic collaboration with the famous Politecnico Di Milano (PDM Milan, Italy). It is located in the sprawling 60 acres, GD Goenka University campus, GD Goenka Education City on Sohna Gurgaon Road.

Promoted by the GD Goenka Group, the mission of SoFD is to be an internationally recognized design school in the area of education, research and excellence. Enabling this, is an excellent team of International professionals and academicians. The intellectually stimulating learning environment and state of the art facilities provide a holistic, learning experience to the students. Our dedicated professors come with extensive international professional and academic experience and are amongst the best the design field has to offer. Currently the school offers Under Graduate, Post Graduate and PhD programs in five pathways: Fashion, Product, Interior, Communication & Jewellery Design. The studio based pedagogy is a blend of cutting edge Italian design and sensibilities combined with sensitivity and deep understanding of the Indian cultural traditions. The academic collaboration with PDM ensures an unmatched international exposure to students of SoFD through regular workshops conducted by visiting professors from PDM and semester exchange opportunities to study at the PDM Milan campus.

With a view to build a generation of socially responsible creative designers, capable of serving as change agents of growth and development in diverse and decentralized sectors of their respective industry segments, SOFD, GDGU is committed to excellence and industry relevance of all its academic programs. It has strong links with the Industry and works closely with the leading organizations both in the public and private sectors.
