Mit ihrer Hilfe soll er verschiedene Systeme der Warmewirtschaft unter AusschluB aller storenden zufalligen Einflusse miteinander vergleichen und feststellen kannen, wie weit eine vorhandene Anlage dem theoretischen Ideal entspricht, und auf welchem Wege sie diesem Ideal angenahert werden kann. Die bislang vorhandenen, teilweise vorzuglichen Arbeiten uber die Dampfwirtschaft in Zuckerfabriken haben eine allgemein gultige Form der Darstellung vermissen lassen, da sie ein Ziel verfolgen, das von dem hier gesteckten verschieden ist und dieses nahezu ausschlieBt. Diese Arbeiten wollen den Bedurfnissen und Unvollkommenheiten der Praxis gerecht werdende Untersuchungen und Berechnungen darbieten, die es ermaglichen, die fUr die Praxis erforderlichen GraBen der Apparate, Maschinen und Heizflachen fur ihren besonderen Zweck zu berechnen. Theoretische Er-. arterungen spielen hierbei in der Regel nur soweit eine Rolle, als sie dazu dienen, die bei dem gerade zu untersuchenden Falle spielenden V organge zu erklaren.
