Die elementare Statik ist leicht verstiindlich, da sie sich aut' wenigen Grund- gesetzen aufhaut, aher ihre Sprache ist schwierig oder zum mindesten schwer ein- priigsam. So ist aucb die Tatsache zu verstehen, daB die mannigfaltigen neueren Methoden hisher eine verhiiltnismii13ig geringe Verhreitung in der Praxis gefunden hahen. Die meisten Statiker, henutzen ein eingefahrenes Geleis, in welches sie zu- fiillig wiihrend ihrer Berufsaushildung hineingeraten sind. Der Wirkungsgrad unseres reichhaltigen Schrifttums ist sehr gering. Gelesen und verstanden '\\)erden haupt- siichlich die Arheiten, welche eine dem Leser hereits vertraute Richtung einschlagen.
