Den geehrten Leser bitte ich, dies bei Beurteil ng meiner Arbeit zu berlicksichtigen. Durch eingehende Behandlung der Ausbildung der Schaufelkaniile und der Schaufelschnitte habe ich versucht, dem Konstrukteur An- regung zur Durchfiihrung einer rationellen Schaufelkonst uktion zu geben. Da in der Literatur del' Zentrifugalpumpe liberhaupt noch nichts liber Schaufelkonstruktionen zu finden ist, so glaube ich hier- mit dem Wunsche vieler entsprochen zu haben. Den Firmen, die mir fUr das letzte Kapitel "Ausflihrungen von Zentrifugalpumpen" bereitwilligst Material zur Verfligung stellten, mochte ich an dieser Stelle nochmals meinen Dank sagen. Nlirnberg, August 1906. Dipl.-Ing. F. Neumann. V orwort znr zweiten Anflage. Seit der ersten Auflage meines Buches im Jahre 1906 hat die Zentrifugalpumpe eine groBe Entwicklung durchgemacht. Es sind viele neue Konstruktionen entstanden, die sicherlich fiir den Leser von groBem Interesse sein werden. Ich habe deshalb hauptsachlich den letzten Teil "Ausfiihrung von Zentrifugalpumpen und Zentrifugal- pumpenanlagen" wesentlich erweitert, soweit es mir mit dem zur Verfiigung stehenden Material moglich war. Leider ist es mir nicht in dem MaBe, wie ich woIlte, gelungen, Querschnittzeichnungen verschiedener Typen von Zentrifugalpumpen zu bringen, da die ausfiihrenden Firmen in Anbetracht des immer noch neuen Gebietes Konstruktionszeichnungen sehr geheim halten. Um so mehr mochte ich an dieser Stelle den Firmen, die mich bei Vervollstandigung des Kapitels unterstiitzten und mir wertvolles Material zur Verfiigung stellten, meinen Dank aussprechen.
