Jenes Verfahren zur Lösung quanten- mechanischer Probleme - die Schrödingergleichung - genie t unter den Physikern nach wie vor eine solch uneingeschränkte Popularität und Anwendungsbreite, da Schrödingers Name wohl einer der am häufigsten zitierten in der physikalischen Fachlitera- tur ist. Dem überragenden Wissenschaftler tritt im Falle Erwin Schrö- dingers die Faszination einer einzigartigen Persönlichkeit zur Seite, eine Faszination, die ihren Ursprung in einer universellen Bildung hat.
