Die günstige Aufnahme der ersten Auflage des vor- liegenden Handbuches gibt uns Gewähr dafür, da die Art unserer Behandlung des Stoffes Anklang gefunden hat. \Vir haben deshalb den Aufbau des \Verkes beibehalten und seinen Inhalt nur nach den neuesten Fortschritten auf dem Gebiete der Lichtquellen, der Effektbeleuchtung, des Leitungsbaues und der Sicherungs- und Regelungsverfahren ergänzt. Au erdem haben wir es für ratsam gehalten, die Eigenschaften und das V erhalten der Dynamos, Motoren, Transformatoren und Apparate zu behandeln, um sowohl dem projektierenden und dem Betrieb führenden Ingenieur die nötigen Kenntnisse zur Lösung ihrer Aufgaben zu verschaffen, als auch dem Lernenden eine allgemeinere und tiefere Einsicht zu bieten. Aus diesen Gründen haben wir neue Abschnitte über den Spannungsabfall und die Parallelschaltung der Gleich- und Wechselstrommaschinen, über synchrone und asynchrone Motoren, über ruhende und kreisende Umformer und über Akkumulatoren eingefügt und auch den Fragen der \Virtschaft- lichkeit und Tarifbildung die gebührende Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt.
