Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Helmut Tschöke, von 1995 bis 2011 Lehrstuhlinhaber und Institutsleiter an der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg. Zuvor war er bei der Robert Bosch GmbH im Geschäftsbereich Dieselsysteme in leitender Funktion in Entwicklung und Fertigung tätig.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus Mollenhauer ist Begründer dieses Fachbuchs. Er vertrat bis zu seiner Pensionierung 1996 an der Technischen Universität Berlin das Fachgebiet Verbrennungskraftmaschinen.
