About The Book

Der Inhalt des vorliegenden Buches ist meine von der Technischen Hochschule Karlsruhe im Sommer 1960 anerkannte Promotionsarbeit. Die Anregung zu dieser Arbeit ging von den JLO-Werken inPinneberg/Ham- burg aus. Sie traten im Frühjahr des Jahres 1955 an Herrn Professor Dr.-Ing. K. KOLLMANN, Karlsruhe, dessen Lehrstuhl ich damals als Assistent angehörte, mit der Bitte heran, sich in eine zu jener Zeit gerade auf eigenem Prüffeld an- laufende Versuchsreihe an einem kurbelkastengespülten Zweitakt-Vergasermotor einzuschalten und in erster Linie die theoretische Auswertung der Versuchsergeb- nisse zu übernehmen. Die Versuche sollten der weiteren Klärung des Gaswechsels des Zweitaktmotors, besonders seines Systems Kurbelkasten - Überströmkanäle - Zylinder - Auspuffrohr, dienen. Herr Professor Dr.-Ing. K. KOLLMANN betraute mich mit der Bearbeitung der Aufgabe, deren Ergebnis ich mit der Genehmigung der technischen Leitung der JLO-Werke im zweiten Teil dieses Buches niedergelegt habe. Über diese spezielle Aufgabenstellung hinaus erschien es sinnvoll, der Dar- stellung der Charakteristikentheorie der instationären Gasdynamik, die als Be- rechnungsgrundlage verwendet wurde, einen breiteren Raum zu geben, als es normalerweise im Rahmen einer Promotions arbeit üblich ist, da sie im Schrifttum in Verbindung mit dem Anwendungsgebiet Kolbenmaschinen noch wenig vertreten ist. Wenn auch die angeführten Beispiele sich nur auf einen schmalen Bereich dieses Anwendungsgebietes beziehen, so ist der theoretische Teil doch so all- gemein aufgebaut, da hieraus auch die Grundlagen für die Berechnung anderer instationärer Strömungsprobleme im Kolbenmaschinenbau entnommen werden können.
