In der industriellen Fertigung ist man zur Sicherung der Wett- bewerbsfahigkeit bestrebt, durch wirksame Rationalisierungs- maBnahmen die Produktionskosten zu senken. Dieses Ziel wird in den letzten Jahren verstarkt auch in den Bereichen der Ange- botsabwicklung, Konstruktion und Arbeitsvorbereitung verfolgt. Berticksichtigt man, daB die Durchlaufzeit in diesen Bereichen 60 % der Gesamtdurchlaufzeit betragen kann [1], erscheinen hier RationalisierungsmaBnahmen erfolgversprechend. Der Grund ftir den hohen Anteil dieser Bereiche an der Gesamt- durchlaufzeit ist-unter anderem darin zu suchen, daB in der Fertigung standig neue Technologien und Verbesserungen einge- ftihrt wurden, wahrend die Angebotsabwicklung, Konstruktion und Arbeitsvorbereitung weitgehend noch mit herkommlichen Hilfsmit- teln arbeiten. Dadurch konnen sie mit der erhohten Produktions- geschwindigkeit nicht standhalten und stellen somit - tibertrie- ben formuliert - einen "Hemmschuh" im Produktionsablauf dar. Hinzu kommt auBerdem, daB die verbesserten Technologien in der Fertigung einen immer hoheren Planungsaufwand in der Arbeits- vorbereitung erforderlich machen. Die Angebotsabwicklung sieht sich zudem noch vor dem Problem, daB das Verhaltnis aus der Zahl der Anfragen und der Zahl der Auftrage immer ungtinstiger wird [2]. Dies bedeutet aber, daB immer mehr Zeit aufgebracht werden muB, urn einen Auf trag in die Fertiqung geben zu konnen. Da i. a. der Zeitaufwand ftir die Angebotsbearbeitung dem Unternehmen nicht direkt vergtitet wird, erscheint es besonders vordringlich, der Angebotsabwick- lung solche Hilfsmittel zur Verftigung zu stellen, die eine moglichst schnelle Angebotsbearbeitung ermoglichen. Hier bietet sich der Einsatz von Rechenanlaqen an.
