In dem nun vorliegenden zweiten Band werden die im ersten Band schon angekiindigten Analyse- und Synthesemethoden fUr Mehrfachregelsysteme behan- delt, die wesentlich auf dem Begriff des Zustandsmodells beruhen. Dieser Band erscheint durch einen USA-Aufenthalt des Verfassers bedingt zwar spater als geplant, doch diese Verzogerung brachte den Vorteil, daB neuere, in der Literatur bekanntgewordene Ergebnisse zu dem noch in Entwicklung befindlichen Gebiet eingearbeitet werden konnten. So fand beispielsweise das yom Verfasser geleitete "IFAC Symposium iiber MehrgroBenregelungen" 1968 (Diisseldorf) statt, wo erstmalig eine zusammenfassende Diskussion der mit MehrgroBenregelproblemen verkniipften Probleme ermoglicht wurde. Inzwischen hat sich eine weitere Klarung der mit den MehrgroBenregelungen zusammenhangenden Fragen ergeben, so daB die hier vorgelegte Auswahl aus den vorhandenen systemtheoretischen Ideen und Methoden wohl den Anspruch erheben darf, dem in der Forschung und bei der Losung praktischer Aufgaben Tatigen eine Hilfe zu bieten. Es erscheint mir aber angebracht, an dieser Stelle noch einmal auszusprechen, daB in der mit dem vorliegenden Band vorlaufig abgeschlossenen Darstellung systemtheoretischer Fragen der Mehrfachregelungen nur grundsatzlich zur Verfiigung stehende Hilfsmittel zur Losung praktischer Aufgaben beschrieben werden sollten. An einer Reme durchaus "akademisch" zu nennender Beispiele werden zwar wesentliche Eigenschaften der Methoden erlautert; bei dem vorgegebenen Umfang des Buches konnten aber spezielle Probleme einzelner technischer Disziplinen nicht vollstandig durchgerechnet werden.
