Zahlreiche Werkstatten auf dem europaischen Festland, in England und in den Vereinigten Staaten machen entweder von einer richtigen Messung der "O-Gute" odeI' doch von einem beurteilenden Vergleich del' Werkstucke mit erprobten Musterteilen Gebrauch. Wir stehen allerdings VOl' der merkwurdigen Tatsache, daB die eine Gruppe von Forschern die O-Gute allzu genau und schwierig feststellen will und daher ihre Einfuhrung und Verbreitung hemmt, die andere Gruppe der Nur-Praktiker sie immer noch als uberfliissig ansieht, weil die Schlosser im Zusammenbau von Gruppen oder fertigen Maschinen eine unerlaB- liche Zusatzarbeit von Hand doch leisten mussen, ohne die Maschinen nun einmal nicht zum einwandfreien Laufen gebracht werden konnen. Hier liegt der springende Punkt del' kommenden Entwicklung. 1st zweckmaBige und gleichformige O-Gute, hervorgebracht durch Maschi- nen, del' letzte Schritt zum wahllosen Austauschbau, der die Handarbeit des Schlossers praktisch ausschaltet, so muB er richtig vorbereitet und dann auch gemacht werden. Del' Konstrukteur muB daher in del' Lage sein, die erforderliche O-Gute aller wichtigen Teile auf der Zeichnung vorzuschreiben und zusammen mit den Betriebsleuten, in del' Arbeits- vorbereitung und in den Werkstatten, die Schlichtverfahren anzugeben.
