Eine Eingangspriifung, laufende Beaufsichtigung und gegebenenfalls Aufarbeitung wahrend der Gebrauchs- dauer findet, abgesehen yom unvermeidlichen Wiederanscharfen, in den seltensten Fallen statt. Erst wenn graB ere Mengen AusschuB oder Betriebsstarungen ent- standen sind, entschlieBt man sich, auch die zur Verwendung gekommenen Werk- zeuge und Betriebsmittel zu untersuchen. Die merfiir zur Verfiigung stehenden Hilfsmittel sind dann meist recht primitiv. Fiir eine ordnungsgemaBe Fertigung geniigt dieses Verfahren nicht. Eine lau- fende Priifung und lnstandhaltung auch der allgemeinen Werkzeuge und Gerate mit besonders hierfiir bereitgestellten Einrichtungen und von geschulten Leuten ist vielmehr unerlaBlich. In Anbetracht des erheblichen Wertes, den diese Gegen- stande darstellen, machen sich solche Arbeiten immer bezahlt; ganz abgesehen von dem Vorteil, der durch weniger Arger, weniger Reibungen und erhahte Lei- stungsfahigkeit entsteht. Selbstverstandlich wird man bei einer Reihe von Werk- zeugen auch noch auf eine Erprobung im Betrieb angewiesen sein.
