Das Buch ist in zwei Teile gegliedert. In der ersten H�lfte werden die theoretischen Grundlagen detailliert vorgestellt, um auch Lesern ohne vertiefte mathematische Vorkenntnisse dieses Themengebiet n�herzubringen. Diskutiert werden die Grundlagen der Dimensionsanalyse, die Behandlung von temperaturabh�ngigen und von rheologischen Stoffwerten und die Modell�bertragung bei nicht-Verf�gbarkeit von Modell-Stoffsystemen, sowie bei partieller �hnlichkeit. All dies wird dem Leser anhand von 20 modernen Beispielen aus der heutigen verfahrenstechnischen Praxis illustriert und mit 25 in dieser Auflage neu hinzugekommenen �bungsaufgaben aktiv erarbeitet und anhand der L�sungen kontrolliert.
Im zweiten Teil des Buches werden die einzelnen verfahrenstechnischen Grundoperationen aus den Bereichen mechanische, thermische und chemische Verfahrenstechnik von der Warte der Dimensionsanalyse und der Modell�bertragung beispielhaft behandelt und es werden f�r jede Operation die Ma stabs�bertragungsregeln vorgestellt und diskutiert.
Das vorliegende Buch wendet sich dementsprechend an Studenten wie auch bereits auf dem Gebiet t�tige Ingenieure, Chemiker und Verfahrenstechniker.

About The Author

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Marko Zlokarnik hat technische Chemie studiert, an der RWTH Aachen in Verfahrenstechnik promoviert, und war 35 Jahre lang in der verfahrenstechnischen F&E bei der Bayer AG in Leverkusen tätig. Sein Arbeitsgebeit war die Auslegung von Reaktionsapparaten für chemische Produktionsanlaghen, was neben der Aufklärung der Reaktionskinetik grundlegende Arbeiten zur Rührtechnik und zur Modellübertragung nach sich zog. In den 70er Jahren entwickelte er eine besonders leistungsfähige biologische Abwasserreinigungstechnik, die Bayer-Turmbiologie mit flotativer Entfernung von Belebtschlamm. Von 1970 bis 1990 hatte er einen Lehrauftrag an der TU Clausthal-Zellerfeld für die Ähnlichkeitstheorie, 1991 bis 1994 hielt er die Bayer-Stiftungsprofessur für Technische Chemie an der Universität zu Köln. Von 1979 bis 1988 fungierte er als Obmann des VDI-GVC-Fachausschusses Bioverfahrenstechnik. Er hat 60 Veröffentlichungen, 20 Patente und fünf Bücher verfasst und für seine Arbeit die Otto-Bayer-Goldmedaille und die Ehrenmedaille des VDI erhalten.
