In den letzten lahren ist der Absatz in elektronischen Bau- elementen unabhiingig von wirtschaftlichen Entwicklungen stetig gestiegen. Zwangsliiufig ist an den Absatz von Bau- elementen auch der Absatz von Netzgeriiten gekoppelt. Bei den Bauelementen hat sich der Trend zur h6heren Inte- gration mit den verbesserten Herstellverfahren deutlich ver- stiirkt. Das geht schon soweit, daB das fUr die Stromver- sorgung erforderliche Bauvolumen iihnlich groB ist wie der fUr die versorgte Elektronik erforderliche Raum. Bei den Netzgeriiten selbst wurden in den letzten Jahren durch die Fortschritte auf dem Gebiet der Halbleiterbau- elemente neue Schaltungstechniken ermoglicht. Dadurch wurden neue Dimensionen fUr Bauvolumen, Wirkungsgrad und Leistungsbereich erschlossen. Mit den neuen Schal- tungstechniken kamen neue Netzgeriite in einer solchen Vieizahl auf den Markt, daB der Oberblick schwerfallt. Da aber die Anzahl der sinnvoll einsetzbaren Schaltungs- prinzipien gering ist, wurde hier der Versuch unternommen, die benutzten Schaltungsvarianten sinnvoll zu ordnen. Der Trend zur Vereinheitlichung der Schaltungstechnik wird von den Herstellern integrierter Halbleiterschaltungen zum Ein- satz in den Steuer- und Regelteilen der Netzgeriite unter- stiitzt. Der Versuch einer systematischen Darstellung wird gerechtfertigt durch die begriindete Annahme, daB nach der stiirmischen Entwicklung der letzten jahre die Entwicklung der Netzgeriite nun zu einem gewissen AbschluB gekommen ist. Die fUr Anwendungen in Netzgeriiten we sent lichen Eigenschaften der in den Netzgeriiten verwendeten Bau- elemente werden beschrieben, spezielle Bauelemente aus- fUhrlich behandelt.
