Das schöne, allen ästhetischen Anforderungen genügende Produkt, die in- teressanten kinematischen Verhältnisse der bei der Herstellung desselben ver- wendeten Maschinen, die gegenüber der gewöhnlichen Weberei weitaus schwieri- geren Bindungsgesetze reizten zu einer eingehenderen Behandlung dieses Gebietes der Textil-Industrie umsomehr, als das bisher in der Fachliteratur über diesen Gegenstand Gebrachte gegeJtliber den die gewöhnliche Weberei behandelnden zahlreichen Literaturerzeugnissen als verschwindend bezeichnet werden kann. Die der Bobbinet- und Spitzen-Herstellung dienend"Cn Maschinen sind in mehreren Publikationen in gediegener Weise besprochen, die Bindungsgesetze der Herstellungsmethoden aber entweder gar nicht oder nur ganz allgemein und kurz behandelt; während doch gerade diese, von den Bindungsgesetzen der gewöhn- lichen Weberei vollkommen abweichenden Methoden, die selbstverständlich die Grundlage für den Bau der Maschinen abgeben mussten, den ScharfMinn und die Combinationsgabe der in dieser Industrie beschäftigten Technologen glänzend beweisen. Allerdings tragen die Autoren dieser Publikationen nicht die Schuld an diesem Mangel, sie hätten diesen genial erdachten Fadenverschlingungen, .die der regelmässigen Bewegung einer Maschine zu spotten schienen, gewiss mehr Auf- merksamkeit zugewendet, wenn ihnen hiezu Gelegenheit geboten worden wäre.
