Das Buch ist besonders dem praktisch tatigen Ingenieur des Netzbetriebes gewidmet, um ihm einen Uberblick iiber die Vorgange zu geben, die in seinem Netz auftreten konnen, wie auch iiber die MaB- nahmen zur Vermeidung, Verminderung oder Begrenzung der Uber- spannungen. Die ersten Abschnitte befassen sich mit Uberspannungen, die durch Gewittereinwirkung auf Freileitungen auftreten. In zusammenfasscnder Darstellung ist auf die bisher im Schrifttum vorliegenden Untersuchun- gen iiber die Entstehung der elektrischen Ladung in den Wolken sowie des Blitzes eingegangen.
