Baugruben können heute mit sehr unterschiedlichen Techniken gesichert werden, von denen einige, wie z.B. das Rammen von Spundbohlen, seit über 100 Jahren bekannt und bewährt sind, und andere erst seit ca. 15 Jahren eingesetzt werden, wie z.B. Hochdruckinjektionen. Die Verfahrensauswahl und Kombination von Techniken im Einzelfall hängt wesentlich von den örtlichen Gegebenheiten ab; für eine optimierende Planung und die Beherrschung der Ausführung müssen die technischen, wirtschaftlichen und ökologischen Eigenschaften der Sicherungsver- fahren bekannt sein. Die ebenfalls zum Themenkreis Baugrubensicherung gehörende Technologie der Wasserhaltung wird in diesem Buch nicht behandelt. Dazu ist in dieser Buchreihe ein gesonderter Band erschienen.
