Die vorliegende Arbeit ist in den Jahren 1981 bis 1989 am Institut für Thermo- und Fluiddynamik der Ruhr-Universität Bochum entstanden, sie wurde von der Fakultät für Maschinenbau a 1 s Habilitationsarbeit ange- nommen. Mein besonderer Dank gilt Herrn Professor M. Fiebig, der diese Arbeit unterstützt und viel zu ihrer Diskussion beigetragen hat. Den beiden Gut- achtern Herrn Professoren F. Kahler und Herrn Prof. K. Stephan danke ich für die kritische Anmerkungen und Hinweise auf Druckfehler, welche in der vorliegenden Fassung berücksichtigt sind. Die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) hat durch die mir gewährleiste- ten Sachbeihilfen Le 444/1, /2 und /3 die experimentellen und numerischen Untersuchungen gefördert. Herr Dr.-lng. Lösing hat im Rahmen einer DFG- Sachbeihilfe einen gro en Teil der experimentellen Untersuchungen durch- geführt. Herr Dr.-Ing. D. Claes hat im Rahmen einer weiteren DFG-Sachbei- hilfe die Strömungsfelder um sich ablösende Blasen und die Blasenkonturen berechnet. In Studien- und Diplomarbeiten haben die Herren Boiting, Farmakis, Rie , Grate und Schmitz Siedecharakteristiken gemessen, hat Herr Böhnisch Kon- turen und Maximal vol umina von statisch haftenden Blasen berechnet und haben die Herren Wi esner und Hesel haus Blasenkonturen kinematografisch ausgewertet.
