Die 18. Auflage wurde auf den Stand vom Sommer 1993 gebracht. Insbesondere wurden mehr Zahlen aus den Wirtschaftsbereichen Gesamtdeutschlands geboten (Bruttoinlandsprodukt, Bruttosozialprodukt, Volkseinkommen, Bevölkerung, Arbeitsmarkt, Gewerkschaften, usw.). Auf Kreditkarten und Reiseschecks wurde stärker eingegangen. Die Scheck- und Wechselformulare wurden ausgetauscht. Die neuen Beträge im Zivilprozessrecht wurden berücksichtigt. Die neuen Kündigungsfristen bei den Arbeitsverhältnissen lagen vor einem Jahr noch nicht vor, sie konnten daher nur angedeutet werden.Bei der Sozialversicherung wurde au er den Zahlenwerten des Jahres 1993 insbesondere auch das Gesundheitsstrukturgesetz vom 21. 12.1992 berücksichtigt. Die Pflegeversicherung konnte nur angedeutet werden.Steuerrechtlich wurde das Buch auf den Stand von 1993 gebracht. Der ab 1995 zu erhebende Solidaritätszuschlag nach dem Föderalen Konsolidierungs-Programm und die Entscheidung des Bundesverfasssungsgerichts bezüglich Existenzminimum wurden berücksichtigt, ebenfalls die ab 1995 geltenden Bestimmungen für die Vermögenssteuer.Auch die Europäische Union (EU) - bisher Europäische Gemeinschaft (EG) - wurde nach dem Stand 1993 berücksichtigt.
