Die vorliegende Theorie der Zentrifugalpumpen ent- stand aus der Untersuchung der Ergebnisse von Ver- suchen, welche ich im Auftrage der lVIaschinenfabrik Andritz Aktien-Gesellschaft in Andritz-Graz seit dem Jahre 1902 vornahm, und war mit Ausnahme des den "Schwebezustand(( behandelnden Abschnittes (S. 66 f.) schon im Frühjahre 1904 abgeschlossen. Die angeführten Versuchsresultate sind zum Teil an älteren Pumpen gewonnen; leider mu te ich es mir aus geschäftlichen Rücksichten der genannten Firma versagen, Ergebnisse neuester Pumpen von weit höheren Nutz- effekten als die mitgeteilten sowie konstruktive Details zu besprechen. Ich fühle mich verpflichtet, auch an dieser Stelle Herrn Professor Budau für den mir freundlichst erteilten Hinweis auf die bestehende Analogie zwischen dem bei einer in Gang befindlichen Zentrifugalpumpe eintretenden Zustand, wenn die Förderflüssigkeit in der Rohrleitung bis zu einer gewissen Höhe steht, ohne auszutreten, und dem Schwebezustand in der Flugtechnik, sowie Herrn Ingenieur Kar I Hai der e r für dessen lVIitarbeit bei Vorwort. IV Herstellung der Versuchseinrichtung und Teilnahme an den Versuchen selbst meinen verbindlichsten Dank aus- zusprechen.
