In every industry there are a few thought-leaders who engage the community and transcend the status quo. In the world of helicopters, Captain Randy Mains is such a leader. His "My 2 Cents' Worth" column in every issue of Rotorcraft Pro magazine has been a consistent voice of sanity and entertainment. Over the years his indelible writings have made readers laugh, think, and (hopefully) fly much safer! Randy's half-century of aviation experience and wit now pours out of him into this compilation of short articles. His keen insights, memorable musings, and practical applications are all collected here and freely dispensed to you in a silver cup. Drink them up and they will help you make it home safely. I speak for the entire Rotorcraft Pro team when I say it is a great pleasure for us to present the words and wisdom of Randy Mains. Lyn Burks Editor-in-Chief Rotorcraft Pro

Randy Mains has logged over 13,000 flight hours in a career that spans 49-years. He has been a CRM assessor in the two-crew helicopter cockpit for 30 of those years. In 1982 he was the first recipient of the Golden Hour Award recognizing his contribution to furthering the helicopter air medical concept in America. In 2013 he received the prestigious Jim Charlson Safety Award for his efforts to promote helicopter air ambulance safety. A decorated combat pilot during the Vietnam War, Randy was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, 27 Air Medals and the Bronze Star Medal. He currently writes a monthly column for Rotorcraft Pro magazine entitled "My Two Cents' Worth."
