Photography collected by the author is organized by region in order to show areas in China that are not as well publicized as the big city areas that make the news now and then. The author lived and traveled in China over seven years and carried both an observer's and a participant's eye. Interactivity with folks was eased by the author's study and appreciation of the language and culture in its various forms, while much of what was there was often surprising and profound. A deep enjoyment was felt for the richness of the diversity of Chinese people found through travel, and a goal of this book is to share that view towards a variety of life that is not so commonly visible to an American view.

This book is designed as the first of a set to showcase locations to give a feel for the breadth and diversity that is present in modern China, without a difficult social element.

Jordan, Jim: - Jim Jordan's writing and graphic design work has been produced and distributed in South Korea, China, and the United States. When in East Asia, where he has lived and worked since 2007, he claims to be "from Seattle, New Jersey" for the comic entanglement that is meeting someone in a far-off land, and does happily return both to Washington State and the state of New Jersey among other places in the US whenever possible. Jordan has recently returned from living seven and a half years in China and is now at WWU in Bellingham, Washington. Travel has been a constant companion, and he enjoys learning languages of places he goes, even for shorter visits than a residency. He is a teacher of English, a builder of artistic creations, and a flow-arts hobbyist.
