Sie haben ein schwarzes Afrika erlebt, jenseits der Schlagzeilen von Krieg, Korruption und Ausbeutung. Das Buch nimmt den Leser auf eine spannende Reise mit, lässt ihn miterleben und mitfühlen. Das Buch ist eben kein Reiseführer, kein Nachschlagewerk, auch wenn es dazu einlädt, in denselben Spuren ähnliche Nähe zum Land zu generieren. In den letzten Kapiteln werden gelegentlich Vergleiche zum touristisch gut entwickelten Namibia herausgearbeitet und der Leser kann sich entscheiden, wie er südliches Afrika erleben möchte. Eines aber wird ganz klar: Es ist Zeit für Afrika, aber man braucht auch Zeit für Afrika.
