Anna Hazare's fast unto death in August 2011, demanding the enactment of a strong Lokpal Bill, was a watershed moment in post-independence India. He had a ringside view of the developments, stationed as he was at the Ramlila Grounds in New Delhi, the venue of the fast, and had intimate access to the two warring parties: the Congress government at the Centre and Team Anna. Evoking the Jayaprakash Narayan movement and Gandhi's satyagraha, Ashutosh mines the history of India's post-independence politics to understand the phenomenon that is Anna Hazare.

Ashutosh: - From being an editor for eight years to fighting the Lok Sabha elections, Ashutosh has seen it all. One of the best-known faces of Hindi journalism, Ashutosh began his career as a journalist in the print media, went on to be a part of the original Aaj Tak team that revolutionized TV news and then the editor of IBN7 from where he quit to become a political activist. This is his second book. He earlier wrote Anna: 13 Days That Awakened India (2012).
