B�la Kiss: The Vampire of Cinkota

In July 1916, Hungarian Detective Inspector L�szl� Kov�cs discovered one of history's most horrific crime scenes: twenty-four women preserved in chemical baths by serial killer B�la Kiss, who had operated a "lonely hearts" scam for fourteen years. Kiss had lured vulnerable women through romantic correspondence, murdered them for their savings, and preserved their bodies with scientific precision in his workshop in Cinkota.

When authorities closed in, Kiss escaped from a military hospital by switching identities with a dying soldier, beginning a decades-long international manhunt. Kov�cs pursued him across Europe and eventually to America, where Kiss continued killing under various aliases, ultimately claiming eighty-seven victims.

The investigation consumed Kov�cs's life, destroying his marriage and health as he became obsessed with catching the monster who had perfected the art of hiding evil behind respectability. After twenty-six years, Kov�cs finally confronted the dying Kiss in a New York hospital in 1942, where the killer provided a full confession before his death.

This haunting narrative explores the psychological toll of hunting evil, the sophistication of criminal deception, and the price of justice. Based on the true case of B�la Kiss, it reveals how one man's pursuit of a killer became a meditation on obsession, sacrifice, and the eternal struggle between darkness and light.
