These are real cops, who when the state prosecutor's office wouldn't file cases to help break up a notorious Gypsy crime ring, went against the system, using a television journalist to get the case the attention it deserved to get the cases filed. These are cops with families, cops who have seen their fellow policemen die, cops who have been caught in shoot-outs, robberies and house fires. These stories run the entire gamut, from funny to horrible, from pathetic to heartwarming, from wild and exciting to downright unbelievable. While most of us sleep and chase our dreams, cops watch and wait for evil to manifest itself so they can track it down and snuff it out. These are real-world stories of good guys vs. bad guys, of life and death, and all the strange, funny and ridiculous mistakes and mishaps that happen to a policeman carrying a badge.

About the Author-Gerald Borchers was born in Kansas City, Missouri and, at the age of nine, became an avid story teller with the neighborhood children. His storytelling continued throughout his life when his family finally encouraged him to share his stories with others by writing a book. He is married, with three daughters, and had an extensive law enforcement career that included the Los Angeles Police Department, the U.S. Army Criminal Investigaton (CID), together with twenty-five years on the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department. Now in retirement he enjoys fishing, traveling, and "spinning a yarn" or two for those who still listen to and enjoy hearing him tell them.
