This is a memoir about my dad's last 10 years of life. Some of the perpetrators in the story are still alive; therefore, names were changed to protect identities. This is a courtroom and police tale set in both Ohio and Florida about a man victimized by someone he thought loved him and married, until he forgot who she was. My personal experiences with my dad were so explosive and life threatening that I am compelled to share them with all who worry about the same fate for their own parents. I told my dad in one of his final cognitive flashes of awareness that I would never give up on him. I was destined to fulfill that promise.

Barbara Cassidy has a Bachelor of Arts from John Carroll University, University Heights, Ohio (1970); a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio (1975). She earned a Master of Arts in Counseling and Human Service from John Carroll University in 1988. She has been teaching in a variety of capacities since 1979, approximately 38 years. Her experiences include hospital nursing, long term care facilities, an Ohio regional training center through the Ohio Department of Health, and colleges in Ohio and Colorado. She coordinated Nurse Aide Training for the American Red Cross-Greater Cleveland Chapter. With her husband, she published the Journal of Nurse Assistants from 1997 through 2005. Barbara has worked at Arapahoe Community College (ACC) in Littleton, Colorado as the Clinical Coordinator and consultant to the School of Nursing. She taught in the Nurse Aide Program at ACC from 2008 through 2012. Barbara and Patrick are Colorado transplants since 2008 enjoying sunshine with their inquisitive cat, Oreo. Carolyn, Barbara, and families live well in Colorado not far from glorious Geneva Basin.
