Conmocionando a gran parte de la población caraqueña, sobre todo cuando algunos medios de comunicación dejaron colar algunas fotografías de la pareja muerta dentro del vehículo, especialmente la de una mujer embarazada, con sus manos sobre el vientre, como si estuviera protegiendo al niño por nacer.A medida que los policías investigaban fueron descubriendo entre los integrantes de una misma familia, historias de intriga, odio, avaricia, deseos de venganza que quizás el tiempo no mitigó, y el amor de dos adolescentes que superó, el tiempo, la distancia y los estigmas familiares, culturales, sociales y religiosos que se interponían entre ellos. Un amor que sólo la muerte pudo extinguir.Por otra parte la obra muestra el lado humano de los policías encargados de la investigación del trágico crimen, con sus venturas y desventuras; aciertos y desaciertos y también ese lado gracioso de sus experiencias. Siendo uno de ellos el autor del libro, que en la actualidad se encuentra en situación de retiro del actual Cuerpo de Investigaciones Científicas Penales y Criminalísticas, donde llegó a ostentar la jerarquía de Comisario Jefe.
