From early childhood, Sandra learned that secrets are to be kept, and feelings are to be submerged. She tells of her years in the Navy and of hiding her sexual orientation, and of her ultimately finding a partner to build a life with. When Sandra has her beautiful baby girl, Lindsay, it's a dream come true. But that dream turns into a nightmare when she comes home one day to discover her daughter dead, killed by the person she trusted most. No mother should ever have to see with her own two eyes, let alone actually be expected to comprehend, what Sandra saw behind a closed door. This book is the story of her daughter's murder, but it is also the story of years of self-destruction, self-hatred, betrayal and ultimate redemption. Offering readers the tools they need to survive tragedy and emerge on the other side, Insanity or Murder is a story that needs to be told, and one that needs to be read.

Sandra is a U.S. Navy Veteran who is struggling with an array of mental illnesses. Upon retirement, she immigrated to Canada and called it home for 14 years. Revealing her story from a state of true vulnerability, she tells of her journey through mental illness and bereavement, and her dispute with the justice system. She currently lives in Louisiana.
