PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER, NOVEL OF BLACK HUMOR AND SHATTERED HUMANITY
In a Toronto plagued by contrasts, between high-tech glass towers and forgotten alleys, Dr. Thomas Sguin, an atypical psychologist with a simple past and an imperfect future filled with obstacles, embarks on a new career in a futuristic clinic founded by the enigmatic Margaret Rodd. Everything seems under control until the encounter with Mr. William Cox, a stuttering patient with a shifty gaze, whose memories resurface in the form of hallucinations as bewildering as they are unsettling. Throughout strangely lucid sessions, Thomas discovers a parallel world made of enslaved homeless people, manipulated by the Ricci cartel, and a control system far more real than he would have believed.
Will the clinic, a refuge for the mind, become the stage for a dangerous pact?
Funny, impactful, and tinged with raw tenderness, NUT HEAD explores the blurry areas of mental health, the boundary between madness and lucidity, and the dignity of those whom society prefers not to see. How far will Thomas go to free those considered mad or useless? And who is manipulating whom?
