When Hauptmann receives the death penalty, it was Evelyn McLean who owned the world's most famous gem, the Hope Diamond, yet she found little hope herself as an observer of human frailties. Charles Lindbergh, the Lone Eagle, wrote of the future he foresaw: "Our short-term survival may depend on our knowledge and performance. Dr. David Noever graduated from Princeton University, summa cum laude, and Oxford University as a Rhodes' Scholar with a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics. He worked as a NASA space scientist at the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. His interest in the decade of the late 1920's was inspired early by reading F. Scott Fitzgerald.
