Sharron Gold's life took a dark and frightening turn when she attended a party thrown by her old friend Margaret. Without her knowledge, she was served a drink spiked with GhB, a potent drug that turned her into a compliant slave. Sharron was then thrust into a horrific world where she was stalked by criminals who used the latest technology to track and record her every move, subjecting her to unspeakable horrors that defied comprehension.
For three long months, Sharron was kept drugged and under hypnosis while she transported a fortune in her prepared suitcase, without her knowledge.
She was in constant danger, both physically and mentally, and was left penniless. The experience left her questioning how anyone could survive such an ordeal. As she grappled with the effects of mind-altering and "truth" drugs on her psyche, she also sought a way to escape her gang-stalking tormentors and bring them to justice.
Sharron used her trained memory, honed from years of working as a continuity girl on films. She meticulously recorded everything that happened, as if she were a continuity girl in her own nightmare. While fighting against the forced addiction to GhB and suffering from withdrawal, she mentally wrote hundreds of pages, which she then turned into a book in a race against time.
Writing the book became Sharron's way of coping.
She poured her heart and soul into describing the nightmare she endured, the danger she faced, and her fight for survival.
When the book was published, it shook the world, drawing attention to the perils of drugs, the need for better protection against gang stalking, and the importance of resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
Despite the trauma, Sharron was determined to move forward. She started to rebuild her life, making new friends and pursuing new interests, knowing that the road to recovery would be long. In the end, Sharron realized that her book not only helped her heal but also inspired and aided others. She had shared her story with the world, making a profound impact on people's lives.
This is the shocking true account of the nightmare Sharron Gold was lucky to survive.
REVIEWS
Horrifying! August 24th - At first I had a hard time getting into this book. It felt like the writer was kind of "all over the place" and things weren't making sense, after a little while, you realize that was how Ms. Gold was experiencing her life at the time. I started to pay more attention, and the story that unfolded was shocking and horrific. It takes balls to put a story out when all of those people are still out there. Hard to put down!
Robert Priebe I met the author at her shop in Hallstatt. I picked up one of two copies of Spiked lying on a table. I asked if the story was true. I am a police chief in California and had investigated sexual assaults involving "date rape" drugs. When the author, Sharron, found out I was in law enforcement she asked me to read and review her book and to give it an honest review. I promised her I would, and I'm glad I did. The story is compelling and kept me involved and anxious to read more, There's my honest assessment. I could see this story becoming an excellent movie. For those contemplating this book, do it! One very brave woman -

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible and heart breaking
One of the best books I have ever read!
I assumed this was going to be about a woman spiked in a bar, how wrong I was. The elaborate lengths these people have gone to in order to carry out these crimes is incredible.
I was very shocked to learn the full effects of this terrible drug and how the victim can be so easily controlled. It was almost unbelievable, like something out of a very good crime film, yet I know it is all too true. Both incredibly revealing and frightening that this sort of thing happens in real life and I wish Sharron all the best for the future.

The British author Sharron Gold, was a continuity script supervisor for over twenty years on Major European and international films, eventually tiring of the superficial world, she moved to a small Austrian village, Hallstatt. She opened a boutique selling fashions and ethnic jewellery that she sourced on her travels, having always managed to spend the European winter months mostly in India where she supported Tibetan refugees. Finally she felt her life was perfect, until evil came her way in the form of a sick, psychotic couple. Overnight her life was turned into a living hell. SPIKED is her attempt to expose the people that did this to her and the hope to prevent it happening to others. This book is important for all of us, to help us become aware of the dangers of an ever increasing use of drugs to commit crimes. GHB is a typical 'date rape' drug as it is relatively easy to obtain, and it causes a rapid relaxing and disinhibitory effect. Moreover, since it is colourless and odour-free, it is easily added to the potential victim's drink without arousing any suspicion. These characteristics make it easy and less risky to perpetrate the crime. Additionally, GHB frequently causes the victim to be regarded as unreliable in the eyes of law-enforcement authorities because of changes in consciousness, perception, and anterograde amnesia, and at times hallucinations during and following the act. Since GHB is difficult to identify in the urine as it is quickly eliminated from the body, it is rarely collected as evidence of the crime. This drug is not routinely checked for in urine toxicology screening kits and is therefore likely to be missed at the emergency room. Doctors and other professionals working with sexual assault victims should be aware of the possibility of GHB intoxication, more often than not, of an unknowing victim. The drug is not only a date-rape drug but as a hypnotic drug it renders the victim incapable of doing anything other than comply. This is her true story.
